Children's social care

If you have a concern regarding child protection or young person, please contact the Children's Front Door who ensure that children and young people live in a secure, stable and safe environment whether they live at home with their family or, if this is not possible, elsewhere in their community.

The Children's Front Door Team ensures that children, young people and their families receive the correct support when needs are identified and at the most appropriate level. The team supports other practitioners by advising them of the correct route for support to families and children. The focus is to make safe decisions about children at the earliest opportunity.

Telephone: 01325 406222 or email: childrensfrontdoor@darlington.gov.uk

For professionals

As part of the Front Door, there is a new service for professionals to report a new child concern.  Instead of written referrals, the new Children’s Initial Advice Team will provide partner agencies a direct line to a team of experienced and trained social workers.  The contact number for Professionals, reporting a new Child Concern is 01325 406252.
