Wanted - Ideas for Community Reparation Projects

The Allotment Project

Fruit and vegetables which have gone to a local Food Bank and ‘Food For Thought’ a registered charity.

The Bike Project

Stolen/recovered bikes from Durham Police are repaired and donated to local schools and other worthy causes. Some bikes are sold on with the income generated used to sustain the project in terms of parts and tools.

Decorating Projects

Decoration of ‘taster flats’ for young people leaving care. We have also worked with other charities such as Dimensions in Darlington.

Furniture Projects

Refurbishment, upcycling of old unwanted furniture – Donated to charity furniture projects and other worthy projects/causes.

Other Projects Include

Bird box making - Community litter picks – Graffiti cleaning – Art and Craft projects.. 

These are just a few examples of the work with the young people we do. The young people are aged between 10 and 18 and are at various stages of the youth justice system. We also work with volunteers on our Duke Of Edinburgh Awards Scheme and School activity groups. All projects are supervised by staff and risk assessed.

All requests will be processed and put before our volunteer community panel members, who will decide on the value and appropriateness of each request before final approval. If we are not capable of delivering on your project we will inform you as soon as possible.
