A steam-operated polish remover with wall adaptor

Hazard
The product presents a high risk of electric shock as there are inadequate internal connections within the adaptor, meaning that whilst in use, the vibration of the item can cause a wire to become loose. This could cause the wiring to short circuit, or accessible metal parts to become live. The consumer may then touch the item during use and receive an electric shock.

The plug pins did also not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363, presenting a risk of electric shock to consumers.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs and Sockets etc (Safety) Regulations 1994.

Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
