Type

Item number

Product description

Magic slime

Hazard
The product presents a serious chemical risk as it contains excess concentrations of boron. The sample was found to contain 500 mg/kg of boron, which exceeds the maximum permissible concentration of 300 mg/kg. Digestion or contact with an excessive quantity of boron may harm the health of children by damaging their reproductive system.

Additionally, the product presents a risk of choking as when tested, parts of the slime detached easily, and a hard 'small ball' was a present as a removable component. Both the slime and small ball were able to fit entirely inside of a small parts cylinder, meaning that if a child user were to put the product in their mouths, they may choke. Some of the required documentation and markings were not present.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.

Corrective action
Owners should stop using this product immediately. Contact the distributor you purchased from to request redress.

The goods have been seized from the retail premises and are in safe storage awaiting destruction.
