The main swimming pool at the Dolphin Centre is closed while essential maintenance work is carried out.  The pool is 40 years old and requires structural work to be completed that will ensure that customers can continue to enjoy the pool facilities in the future.

Cabinet agreed today to extend the current closure of the main pool to January 2024 to allow the additional works to take place avoiding disruption to pool customers in the future.

Darlington's next school holidays is Summer, which runs from Monday 24th July - Friday 1st September 2023. 

Bank Holiday Monday - 28th August

• 10:00-12:00 - Lane Swimming (no pre-booking required)
• 12:30-13:30 - Bookable Family Swim in training pool
• 13:45-14:45 - Bookable Family Swim in training pool
• 15:00-16:00 - Bookable Family Swim in training pool

Open Pool Sessions

Please note all juniors must be accompanied by an adult. Swimming ratio 1 adult to 2 under 8's or none swimmers. Customers will receive a coloured band upon entry, and will be called out by the lifeguards when their time is up.

The diving boards are also open during the Open Pool sessions Monday-Friday 10:00-12:30.

Toddler Pool

The toddler pool is open during the Open Pool sessions Monday-Friday 9:30-12:30 and the bookable Family Swim session Monday-Friday 13:45-14:45 & Saturday 13:00-14:00.

The toddler pool is suitable for children under 6 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times in the toddler pool.

Bookings can be made from 9am, 9 days in advance of activity.
