Housing Plus

If you are worried about managing your tenancy our Housing Plus service may be able to help you.

What Housing Plus can do?

It can help you maintain your tenancy in a number of ways. For example:

  • Help you sign up to Darlington Home Online [external link] where you can manage your tenancy online
  • Help you to claim housing benefit
  • Refer you to the council’s tenancy sustainment team if you need more help
  • Help to set up a bank account and how to pay your rent
  • Provide advice on how to look after your property
  • Assist and manage problems you may have with neighbours
  • Signpost to support services or partner agencies that may be able to offer you additional services
  • Provide advice and intervention to help you manage your tenancy

Who can apply?

New tenants

Please complete the housing plus application form [pdf document] and submit to [email protected].

You can also tell us you may need assistance with your tenancy when an offer of a property is made to you.

Existing tenants

Is there a charge?

There is a charge which may be covered by housing benefit if you are eligible.
